AUTO IMMUNE DISORDERS
Autoimmune disorders can cause challenges to permanent makeup results. Due to the body’s immune system being in a compromised state, we want to ensure you can heal correctly. Results can be unpredictable depending on the type of disorder.
TAN / SUNBURN
UV rays are your skin’s worst enemy! We absolutely will not work on guests who are tan or sunburned. Why? Not only is the skin in a damaged state, but we simply cannot read your true skin tone. Your results will appear blurry under the skin, change in color, fade prematurely, or not retain at all.
KELOIDS / HYPERTROPIC SCARRING
Unfortunately, if you are prone to developing keloids / hypertrophic scars, we must avoid permanent cosmetics. We certainly would never want to run the risk of creating a raised scar on your face! Keloids are simply an overproduction of collagen during the body’s healing process.
BLOOD THINNERS / BLEEDING DISORDERS
If you currently take blood-thinning medication or have a bleeding disorder, you are not a candidate for permanent cosmetics. Simply put, the more your skin bleeds during a procedure, the less pigment retention you will have. Due to increased blood flow, your pigment stands a high chance of healing very ash in color, or not retaining at all.
ANTI- AGING / ANTI- ACNE PRODUCT USE
The use of these products prior to your appointment causes increased cell renewal and leaves the skin sensitive. Stopping use at least one month prior to your service is recommended. Please note, the use of these products after tattooing will cause lightening and potential color change.
OILY / EXTREMELY OILY SKIN
Regretfully, oily to severely oily skin does not retain well in permanent makeup procedures. Microblading looks are not an option, however, fully shaded techniques such as ombre powder brows are possible! Oily skin will always fade faster, so this is also important to note if you choose to move forward.
THIN / MATURE SKIN
It is our responsibility to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients. Thin or mature skin runs a greater risk of increased bleeding, blurred results or poor retention. Fully shaded techniques such as ombre powder brows are recommended!
LASER TREATMENTS / RESURFACING / FACIALS
Similar to anti-aging ingredients, facial resurfacing of any kind will change the quality of your skin. Laser treatments, chemical peels, and resurfacing treatments have the potential to prevent pigment from retaining at all, or causing very blurred, cool results.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are Diabetic, have Thyroid issues, regularly tan, have Trichotillomania, use retinol/anti-aging products or the like, have oily skin and/or large pores, or visit the gym 4+ days a week and still wish to proceed:
You will be required to sign an addendum to your waiver agreeing you understand these situations may cause your results to appear blurry under the skin, change in color, fade prematurely, or not retain at all.
we WILL REQUIRE A DOCTOR'S NOTE IF:
-
You are recently in remission of cancer
